Our Wedding Diary

Last Sunday, I was visiting with my parents and had dinner with them. A few months back, my mom and I were looking around to figure out what to make for a “card box” for all the cards to go into a secured box. So we found some sort of a hat storage box, the big round ones. I don’t really know what it’s called but it holds big hats so it won’t get bent and whatnot. Anyway, mom and I finished making it. It looks really neat because it is an imitation of a cake. It came out pretty well. Let’s just hope the flowers stays from the glue we used!

I’m getting pretty excited about the wedding day coming up! So far about 10% of the people on the list has already RSVP’d! I was amazed by the quick response!

Steve and I have been meeting with our Priest from St Peter Catholic church and we are going to work on the ceremony process. I need to draft up a script for the interpreters so they can practice. I told them they’ll have it a month prior the date so they can allow time to practice. Then once that’s done, I pass it by our priest to make sure the wordings are correct and the process of it is correct. Then, I can focus on making the program for the wedding.

Pretty soon in a few weeks, I have to take in my ring to get it dipped in white gold and have it soldered with the wrap.   Mom and I are going to finalize everything by Sept 15th on the cake design, plus the flowers choices and whatnot.   That way it’s off on our hands and we can focus on the little details.     The bridesmaids have all their dresses, so it’s all done.    I told them that any black shoes will be fine. It does not matter.    Party favors will be made probably a week or two prior. I’ll probably have my best friend to do them since she offered her help to make them.

Just another reminder to the men… don’t forget to get fitted for tuxedos by Sept 21st and I believe you have to pay too at that time.

I love this diary, this helps me think out loud and figure out if I’m forgetting something or not.

Oh yeah, this weekend I’m picking up my dress from Aunt Mary (Stephen’s aunt) since she did the alternations for me. I am very grateful that she did the alternations.    I was surprised she got it done quickly too!    I can’t wait to see it again!

The biggest task has finally completed. The invitations has been sent out! There are a few that I misspelled or need to address it, will be finished tonight. Those will be mailed out tomorrow after I fix them.

I was working on them last night for about 2 and half hours, making sure everything is in there and whatnot. My eyes gotten so tired and I was so confused with numbers and names so I had to stop for the night. Please let us know if something is missing in the envelopes.. just send us an email and we'll make sure that'll be fixed. So tonight, I'll finish up the little left over of invitations and then I can finally relax a bit but not a lot! 59 days left til the day... wow....

I got a reminder for the guys: Groomsmens, ushers need to get their tuxedos fitted and paid no later than 21 of September! With an exception of Alex, the ring bearer which I believe 2 weeks prior the wedding day because he's growing like a weed! :-)

I tell you what, I sure can't wait until this thing is over. Colleen stressing out every night sure makes it hard for me to take naps. I especially hate it when they forget to put my food out right at 9 p.m. but i'm pretty good at letting them know.
